The Youth Group at Lawrenceville First Christian is growing...and growing...and growing. We'd love to welcome you to be part of our busy Youth Group life! All middle and high school kids are welcome any time. See below for some of the exciting things going on!
5 Alive! (Or Sunday school as some might call it)The Youth Group meets every Sunday morning at 9:45 to study some of the weirdest stories you'll ever hear, all from the Bible, of course! The class is led by our Minister to Children and Youth and adult volunteer. Additionally, the group earns points for coming to Sunday school each week. Every time they reach a goal, they get a reward. So far, we've had game night at Rev. Katie's house, camping at Stone Mountain, and a lock-in. Who knows what's next!
Youth GroupThe regular Youth Group meeting time is 4:30 to 6 pm on Sunday evenings. You never know what might happen there! This is the Youth Group's time to pray and share their lives together. Of course, there's lots of service projects, games and other fun going on during this time, too.
Chi RhoWhat on earth is Chi Rho? It's an ancient symbol of Christianity, but it's also the designation for the middle school-only portion of the Youth Group. While the whole group is together most of the time, sometimes kids get a chance to be with just the kids closer to their own age.
CYFCYF, or Christian Youth Fellowship, is the high school counterpart to Chi Rho. Just like the younger kids sometimes need time with just each other, the high school kids do, too.
Wait, There's More!At Lawrenceville First, the Youth Group is an important part of church life and we work hard to keep them involved with the whole church's life. Many high school students are invited to serve as Deacons-in-Training. Middle school students are invited to serve in our Apprentice Worship Leader (AWL) program in a variety of roles. Youth are often invited to participate in worship in various ways, including leading Youth Sundays. In just about every place in church life, Youth are invited to join in serving our congregation and community.
Fun!It's also important that the Youth Group just get to enjoy fellowship with each other. We plan at least one fellowship activity for the youth each month, just so they get a chance to be friends.
